Thanks to the support and generosity of our incredible community, Variety – the Children’s Charity NSW/ACT has helped give children the opportunity to live life more fully, regardless of ability or background.
The work we do gives children in NSW and ACT the opportunity to improve mobility, gain freedom and get involved in their community, where they can better communicate, achieve independence, and increase their self-esteem.

Therapies
There are many children living in NSW or ACT who require therapy for physical or behavioural disability.This grant provides financial assistance towards therapy costs to assist children that have been diagnosed with a condition and are ineligible for NDIS support. The grant is up to the value of $2000 over a twelve-month period.
Wigs
Variety provides wigs to kids who have lost their hair due to alopecia or another medical condition that results in permanent hair loss. Losing your hair can have profound psychological effects, particularly through childhood and adolescence. One specialised wig can cost up to $6,000 and lasts two to three years so the cost is prohibitive for many families.
Scholarships
Variety Heart Scholarships support kids with a demonstrated talent who are living with a disability, chronic illness or financial hardship, to pursue their dreams and realise their potential. Variety Heart Scholarships are made possible by the support of our partners,

Coaches
Variety Sunshine Coaches provide transport to organisations who cater to kids with a physical disability, regional or social disadvantage, to enable them to access the community and to experience a range of special programs and activities. Coaches can be fitted with wheelchair modifications, ensuring that all children can attend excursions and extra-curricular activities together.
