The 2024 Variety Mini Postie Bike Dash is back on 20-22 September!
Scone — Wingham — Scone (via Nundle, Gloucester and the Barrington Tops)
Thinking about joining a Variety Postie Bike Dash in November, but not sure what’s involved? Is riding your thing and you want to get your bike out of the shed for a run into the country?
The Variety Mini Postie Bike Dash is a weekend event taking your trusty postie bike offroad with like minded people. You’ll need a Honda CT110 or Honda NBC110 including the presentation of the rear rack, mudguards and engine crash plate, and entrants must be over the age of 18 years. Just like all our motoring events, we do travel on dirt and gravel roads!
We set the route for both days taking you on remote roads and parts of the state you didn’t know existed. Breakfast is your own choice and we organise a location for our lunches and dinners as a group. We let you book your own accommodation based on your comfort requirements and budget.
What's the plan?
The Variety Mini Postie Bike Dash is a fun weekend event taking your trusty Postie Bike offroad with like minded people. You’ll need a Honda CT110 or Honda NBC110 including the presentation of the rear rack, mudguards and engine crash plate, and entrants must be over the age of 18 years. Just like all our motoring events, we travel on dirt and gravel roads so ensure your tyres are suitable for the terrain.
This event will see us get together at the Scone Golf Club for dinner on Friday and to meet our fellow Dashers. Scone Golf Club are long-time supporters of Variety the Children’s Charity and we look forward to starting our event at their venue. On Saturday, head to Farrams Lane (near St Aubins St). Choose your breakfast from either the Green Seed Grocer or Café On Kelly, with parking available behind both cafes via Farrams Lane. Following a safety briefing, we’ll head off around 9:15am. Our AM route will take us out through Gundy and up the Crawney Pass where you’ll have some spectacular views into the valley below. Our lunch stop will be at the historic Peel Inn in Nundle before our PM route takes us east through the Nundle State Forest and via the village of Nowendoc, before arriving in Wingham for the night. Sunday AM takes us through the small village of Mount George and along the Gloucester River before a quick coffee stop in Gloucester. We will then head west through the forests of the Barrington Tops, past the beautiful “Firs” in Stewarts Brook State Forest before we wind down the hills into Moonan Flat for lunch. After a rest, we have a short run up through Gundy into Scone to mark the finish of our weekend adventure.
We set the route for both days taking you on remote roads and parts of the Upper Hunter you didn’t know existed. Breakfast is your own choice and we organise a location for our lunches and dinners as a group. We let you book your own accommodation in Scone and Wingham based on your comfort requirements and budget. (See below for our suggested accommodation options.)
