WHY WE DO IT
Variety Activate Sports Day, run in partnership with Sport NSW and delivered by Disability Sport Australia, are a free, fun and inclusive day of sport to try for kids living with physical, sensory and intellectual disabilities.
Held during school terms, Activate Inclusion Sports Days give kids the opportunity to try sports they might otherwise miss out on. Aimed at kids aged 5-18 with learning difficulties, intellectual, sensory & physical disabilities, the days are an opportunity to have a go in a fun and inclusive environment.
Our goal is to raise $25,000 to ensure kids get to play and learn adaptive sports through this great initiative.
Will you help us get there?

A GLANCE AT THE SPORTS ON THE DAY
Goalball
Goalball is a team sport designed for the blind and vision impaired, however sighted athletes can also play. It was created to help rehabilitate veterans at the end of WWII and has been in the Paralympics since 1976

Wheelchair Basketball
Wheelchair Basketball is an exciting form of basketball that delivers an opportunity to develop new skills, increase your fitness and meet new friends.
Originally designed as a rehabilitation and recreation activity for those with a physical disability, the sport is now enjoyed by people of all abilities.

Sitting Volleyball
Sitting Volleyball is a modified version of able-bodied indoor volleyball for people with impaired lower limb function. The game is played on a smaller court with a lower net. For this reason, it is a faster game than able-bodied volleyball.
Players must keep one buttock in contact with the floor at all times during play.
