Thanks to the support and generosity of our incredible community, Variety – the Children’s Charity NSW/ACT has helped give children the opportunity to live life without limits, regardless of ability or background.
The work we do gives children in NSW and ACT the opportunity to improve mobility, gain freedom and get involved in their community, where they can better communicate, achieve independence, and increase their self-esteem.
Thanks to amazing supporters like you, in FY25 we provided:
- $1,950,000 to help kids in need
- Impacted 45,168 children across NSW and ACT
- 363 Grants across NSW and ACT
Supporting Regional Communities and Schools
Each Variety Motoring event has measurable impact on the towns and communities we visit, whether its a onsite school visit or stopping at the local bakery.
Thanks to the tireless fundraising and tourism spend by our Bashers, we are able to give a real economic injection into the remote and regional communities.
And the bonus, watching the joy on the faces of the children and the appreciation of the community leaders as they experience the Bashers convoy come to visit.

How We Help Kids in the Community
Therapy Grants
There are many children living in NSW or ACT who require therapy for physical or behavioural disability.This grant provides financial assistance towards therapy costs to assist children that have been diagnosed with a condition and are ineligible for NDIS support. The grant is up to the value of $2000 over a twelve-month period.
Wig Grants
Variety provides wigs to kids who have lost their hair due to alopecia or another medical condition that results in permanent hair loss. Losing your hair can have profound psychological effects, particularly through childhood and adolescence. One specialised wig can cost up to $6,000 and lasts two to three years so the cost is prohibitive for many families.
Variety Heart Scholarships
Variety Heart Scholarships support kids with a demonstrated talent who are living with a disability, chronic illness or financial hardship, to pursue their dreams and realise their potential. Variety Heart Scholarships are made possible by the support of our partners,The Grahame Mapp Family Foundation in honour of the late Gillian Mapp.
Sunshine Coaches
Variety Sunshine Coaches provide transport to organisations who cater to kids with a physical disability, regional or social disadvantage, to enable them to access the community and to experience a range of special programs and activities. Coaches can be fitted with wheelchair modifications, ensuring that all children can attend excursions and extra-curricular activities together.
