CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

The Variety 4WD Adventure is a fundraising event that takes place over 7 days.

Entrants are required to fundraise or donate a minimum of $3,500 per car for Variety – the Children’s Charity to enter the Variety 4WD Adventure. This is for an entry of one car and up to two (2) people.

Provisions Fee

As the organisers of this turnkey event, we plan for the meals, accommodation, activities, and charge you a ‘provisions fee.’ The provisions fee covers breakfast, lunch, and dinner on most days except where stated. All accommodation is covered for the duration of the event and is based on double or twin share rooms. The provisions fee also covers the cost of selected merchandise, car signage, photography and entertainment during the event.

As an example, the provisions fee for 2025 event was $4,100 inc GST for car entry of two (2) people. You will be notified of the provisions fee closer to the event date. For single entrant provisions fee, please contact the motoring team directly.

Provisions fees will be invoiced in two instalments:
  • First instalment $1,500 inc GST per car is payable in October 2025 or if registered after 1 October 2025 within 14 days of registration.
  • Remaining balance by 7 February 2026.

Please note provision fees are non-refundable.

CAR REQUIREMENTS

To attend the event your 4WD vehicle must be equipped with low range. There is no vehicle age restriction on the 4WD Adventure.

All vehicles must carry the 4WD door panels on the front driver/passenger doors onto which must be fixed the allocated 4WD number for that vehicle. The vehicle number must also be clearly visible, using fluro 10cm (4”) numbers on the front window and fluro numbers on the rear window. If you do not require a replacement set, please ensure you declare this in the registration process.  All cars must also display the sponsor’s stickers, as supplied by the organisers, which includes a front window strip that doubles as a sun strip.

  • Registration: All vehicles must have current registration covering the period of the Adventure.
  • Road Worthiness: It is the responsibility of owners of all vehicles that their vehicle be roadworthy. It is NOT the responsibility of Variety NSW to ensure that the vehicle you are driving is roadworthy. That responsibility lies solely with each owner/driver. It is recommended that you service your vehicle just prior to the event.
  • Insurance: It is essential that third party property insurance is held by all entrants.

ROUTE INSTRUCTIONS

The 4WD organising team do several surveys of the event prior to the official start to set the route and make all the arrangements. Part of the planning process, is to provide you with daily route instructions. You’ll receive route notes at the start of the event. Some days you will receive (but not always) a lunch pack in the morning.

For your safety, please always inform an official before leaving the 4WD route. Officials are stationed at the start and end of each section to record your progress. If you don't arrive at the final Checkpoint and our "Sweep" vehicle (the last official on the route) hasn't seen you, we will initiate a search and rescue operation. Please be aware that you may be responsible for any costs incurred if this turns out to be a false alarm.

WORKING WITH CHILDREN FORMS

To ensure the safety of the children we support at the wonderful schools along our 4WD route, all entrants must have a valid Working With Children Check (WWCC).

This is available free of charge and can be applied for online via https://wwccheck.ocg.nsw.gov.au/Apply. Once your application is submitted you will be required to take your application number to a Service NSW outlet who will then email your WWCC to you. For any queries regarding this please contact us on 02 9819 1016.

If you reside outside NSW, you may apply for your state’s equivalent check e.g. Blue Card in Queensland, Working with Vulnerable People in ACT.
