In 2025, the Variety 4WD Adventure celebrates our 20th Anniversary and we are celebrating with an incredible route, taking you on a journey through six National Parks, each a jewel in the crown of Australia's wilderness.

The Variety 4WD Adventure is a week long, turn-key adventure taking 4WD vehicles off the bitumen and onto dirt and mountain tracks. Escape the nine-to-five routine with this premier, boutique event enjoying four-wheel driving and accommodation in style. The emphasis is on good tracks, fabulous scenery, great food and wine and of course, as with all Variety events, fun and entertainment – all while raising funds for kids in need.

Travel through six wild and magnificent National Parks

Dust off your sense of adventure! Ditch the ordinary and embark on an unforgettable journey – not just a road trip, but a bucket list-ticking exploration through six awe-inspiring National Parks.

Imagine traversing remote landscapes, witnessing breathtaking scenery, and discovering hidden gems in charming villages. Breathe in the freshest air, escape the daily grind, and experience genuine hospitality in untouched corners of Australia – all while making a real difference for children in need.

WHERE WE'RE GOING

Starting from the picturesque beauty of Malua Bay, we venture into the remote wilderness of Deua National Park, where dramatic limestone escarpments, hidden gullies, and vibrant pinkwood rainforests await.

Step back in time as we explore the historic mining town of Captains Flat before arriving in the vibrant capital city of Canberra.

On to the rugged beauty of Brindabella National Park, we seek out the picturesque village of Wee Jasper nestled within its idyllic valley before heading to Oberon.

Prepare to be awestruck by the majestic Blue Mountains National Park, approached from the south for a unique perspective.

Our adventure continues with a visit to the Abercrombie River National Park, a haven for native species, before reaching the charming town of Orange for the evening.

Calling all history buffs! Next stop is Hill End, where the world's largest gold specimen resides. We'll delve into the town's rich past and explore the iconic Bridle Track before resting up for the night in Bathurst.

The journey winds its way back towards Lithgow through the scenic Turon National Park. Our final day takes us through the majestic sights of Marrangaroo National Park, culminating in Katoomba, a fitting end to an unforgettable adventure.

WHAT TO EXPECT

ALL SKILL LEVELS
The 4WD Adventure caters for experienced and inexperienced four-wheel drive enthusiasts.

Over the 7 days you will drive on a mix of dirt and public roads.

COMFORT
This event is fully hosted and catered, with booked entertainment so you can relax after an exciting day driving.

SUPPORT
We care about your safety and comfort along the route so we travel with a full support crew. We have medical and mechanical teams travelling with the event to support vehicles if they need assistance.

OFF THE BEATEN TRACK
Get spoilt by enjoying unique moments on this premium event. We travel tracks that are hard to reach and offer special experiences for you to enjoy.

WHAT IT COSTS

Entry fee

$500 (inc GST) per car
This non-refundable fee is a tax-deductable donation and secures your place in the event.

Fundraising

$3500 (inc GST) per car

This is the minimum fundraising amount per car (up to 2 people) to enter the event.

Provisions Fee

We handle all the details (meals, lodging, activities) for a fee. This covers most meals, all lodging (double/twin rooms), merchandise, car signage, photography, and entertainment. As an example, the provisions fee for the 2024 event was $3,960 (GST included) for two people.

We'll contact you with the exact fee for 2025 closer to the event. Single-entry fees are available upon request.

Payment is in two instalments:

·       $1,500 per car within 14 days of registration

·       Remaining balance by 1 February 2025 (non-refundable after this date)

Additional Costs

Additional expenses, including fuel, potential mechanical repairs, refreshments, and other out-of-pocket expenditures, will be at your own expense.

CAR AND EQUIPMENT YOU'LL NEED TO BRING

Your car

To attend this event your 4WD vehicle must be fully registered, road worthy and include insurance.
Additionally, your vehicle must be equipped with low range. 

Essential Equipment

HELPING KIDS WHO NEED IT MOST

Variety believes that all kids deserve the same opportunities in life. Our events raise funds to support kids who are sick, experiencing disadvantaged or living with a disability to reach their full potential.In NSW alone, there are almost 200,000 kids who are sick, experiencing disadvantage or living with a disability. Variety are only able to do our important work thanks to the generosity of our incredible community, including our 4WD Adventurers.

Along the way, you will get to see your fundraising make a difference firsthand. The places we visit you will get to meet kids and communities where with your support, Variety has directly impacted.
