Everything you need to know about the 2025 Variety B to B Bash
Where We're Going
Get ready for an unforgettable journey through the heart of Australia! Our adventure begins in the picturesque coastal town of Batemans Bay, where we'll set off on an epic road trip that will take us across some of the most stunning landscapes in the country to Adelaide and back.
As we travel west from the coast, we'll make our way up the Clyde Mountain and head north to Goulburn, a historic town with a rich colonial heritage. From there, we'll head across to Yass and down into the Riverina region, exploring charming rural towns and breathtaking scenery along the way.
Our journey will continue through the tiny town of Nangus, before crossing the Murray River down towards Albury and into Victoria. Here, we'll visit the historic gold rush country of Bendigo and Horsham, immersing ourselves in the region's fascinating history.
After exploring Victoria, we'll head towards Adelaide for the National Bash Party, a vibrant celebration of Variety’s and the Bash’s impact. Following the party, we have a rest day for sightseeing before meeting up with the Murray River once again, passing through Renmark, Swan Hill, and up to the Murrumbidgee River country.
Our final leg of the journey will take us through Wagga Wagga and Mittagong, before culminating in a grand finale at Blacktown.
Throughout our adventure, we'll discover hidden gems, explore tiny hamlets, and experience the true spirit of Australia. This is an opportunity to connect with like-minded travellers, create lasting memories, and immerse yourself in the beauty of this incredible country.

What it Takes to be a Basher
- The B to B Bash takes you off-road and outback throughout Australia.
- It’s a community of over 250 people that reaches out to communities off the beaten track.
- You have a desire for adventure, a joy of driving and a tolerance to dust!
- A sense of humour and friendly, curious spirit. All entrants must be over 18 years of age.
- Plus, a wish to give back to kids and community groups in remote locations.
Cost of Entry
- New to the Bash? We’re offering you 50% off the minimum donation amount to take part! That’s $4,250 which is fully tax-deductible, returning Bashers must raise $8,500. This fee is for an entry of one car.
- A $500 non-refundable donation is required on entry to secure your place. Minimum Donation amounts must be paid into Variety 3 months prior to the start of the Bash.
- A provision fee is confirmed closer to the event, last year for example it was $1,500 per crew member. It covers breakfast, lunch, and dinner on most days except where stated as well as selected merchandise, car signage, photography, film services and entertainment during the Bash.
Your Bash Car
- All vehicles entered in the Bash must have been manufactured 25 years or more before the Bash. This excludes those bringing a 4WD which will need to be 30 years or more.
- They must be roadworthy, registered and insured as prescribed by State laws.
- Struggling to find a car which hits requirements? You could apply to bring a more modern 4WD, simply reach out to the motoring events team and we can help.
Accommodation
- Entrants shall book their own accommodation on the nights indicated in the route. There are a range of accommodation styles to suit everyone’s tastes and budgets. In some towns accommodation is limited and availability is not guaranteed.
- If you have difficulty booking in any towns, please contact the motoring events team.
Fundraising
- Bash entrants must raise a minimum fundraising amount per car for Variety to enter the Variety B to B Bash. $4,250 for first time entrants and $8,500 for returning Bashers.
- Once registered, you will have access to a range of fundraising tools to help you reach your target.
- The Bash is a celebration of a year’s fundraising to help kids in need.
- Bashers get to see the direct impact of their fundraising efforts along the way, with a range of educational, health and mobility equipment provided to local schools and organisations enroute.
