In a convoy of colourful cars, you’ll experience 6,000km of incredible Australian landscapes over 12 unforgettable days, meeting new mates, and visiting remote and regional towns to help support Aussie kids.
This year, Bash starts at Dubbo’s Taronga Western Plains Zoo before stepping into the original 1985 Basher’s shoes. Following Dick Smith and his mates’ route from Bourke to Burketown and back again, winding our way to Mudgee.

What is B to B Bash?
Variety’s iconic B to B Bash all began in 1985 when entrepreneur Dick Smith and his friends travelled from Bourke NSW to Burketown Queensland raising $250,000 for kids in need.
Since then, over $230 million has been raised, changing the lives of thousands of children across Australia.

What are the car requirements
We have a few requirements for the vehicle you enter with, affectionately called a Bash Car.
All vehicles entered in the Bash must have been manufactured 25 years or more before the Bash. This excludes those bringing a 4WD which will need to be 30 years or more. They must be roadworthy, registered and insured as prescribed by State laws. Struggling to find a car which hits requirements? You could apply to bring a more modern 4WD, simply reach out to the motoring events team and we can help.
