Get ready to experience the thrilling Flinders Ranges! 

The 2026 Variety 4WD Adventure 'Flinders Ranges Unearthed' will deliver good tracks and fabulous scenery through this iconic region, encompassing the renowned Ikara-Flinders Ranges and Vulkathunha-Gammon Ranges National Parks.

The Variety 4WD Adventure is a week-long, turn-key adventure that takes 4WD vehicles off the bitumen and onto dirt and mountain tracks. This exclusive event allows you to take your four-wheel driving enjoyment to the next level. The emphasis is on fun, friends, and fabulous locations – all while raising funds for kids in need.

Raise Funds

Inspire your family, friends and colleagues to donate to your team and raise funds to ensure all kids in Australia have the same opportunities regardless of ability or circumstance. 

Hit the Road

Explore Australia on the ultimate getaway with 50 like-minded legends, and deliver grants to kids in regional communities along the way.

Event Highlights

  • Experience the rugged beauty of the Flinders Ranges, from Wilpena Pound to the Bendleby Ranges.

  • Tick off spectacular destinations, including the iconic Razorback Lookout, and explore the Brachina Gorge Geological Trail before finishing up in Clare, on the doorstep of the Barossa Valley and Adelaide Hills.

  • Opportunity to experience outback life at Merna Mora Station and discover the Arkaroola Wilderness Sanctuary.

  • A fully hosted, fully catered turn-key adventure with entertainment and comfortable accommodation.

The work we do gives children the opportunity to improve mobility, gain freedom and get involved in their community, where they can better communicate, achieve independence and increase their self-esteem.

What to Expect

ALL SKILL LEVELS
The 4WD Adventure caters for experienced and inexperienced four-wheel drive enthusiasts.

Over the 7 days you will drive on a mix of dirt and public roads.

COMFORT
This event is fully hosted and catered, with nightly entertainment so you can relax after an exciting day driving.

SUPPORT
We care about your safety and comfort along the route so we travel with a full support crew. Our experienced medics and crew ensure your safety and comfort throughout the adventure.

OFF THE BEATEN TRACK
Get spoilt by enjoying unique moments on this premium event. We travel tracks that are hard to reach and offer special experiences for you to enjoy.

What it Costs

Entry fee

$500 per car
This non-refundable fee is a tax-deductable donation and secures your place in the event.

Fundraising

$3,500 per car

This is the minimum fundraising amount per car (up to 2 people) to enter the event.

Provisions Fee

We handle all the details (meals, lodging, activities) for a fee. This covers most meals, all lodging (double/twin rooms), merchandise, car signage, photography, and entertainment. As an example, the provisions fee for the 2025 event was $4,100 (GST included) for two people.

We'll contact you with the exact fee for 2026 closer to the event. Single-entry fees are available upon request.

Provisions fees will be invoiced in two instalments:
  • First instalment $1,500 inc GST per car is payable in October 2025 or if registered after 1 October 2025 within 14 days of registration.
  • Remaining balance by 7 February 2026. 

Additional Costs

Additional expenses, including fuel, potential mechanical repairs, refreshments, and other out-of-pocket expenditures, will be at your own expense.

Car and equipment you'll need to bring

Your car

To attend this event your 4WD vehicle must be fully registered, road worthy and include insurance.
Additionally, your vehicle must be equipped with low range. 

Essential Equipment

Among the things we require you to bring, we ask that you have a radio, towing capabilities and a strap. Click on the link below for all the requirements for this event.

Helping kids who need it most

Variety believes that all kids deserve the same opportunities in life. Our events raise funds to support kids who are sick, experiencing disadvantaged or living with a disability to reach their full potential. In NSW alone, there are almost 200,000 kids who are sick, experiencing disadvantage or living with a disability. Variety are only able to do our important work thanks to the generosity of our incredible community, including our 4WD Adventurers.

Along the way, you will get to see your fundraising make a difference firsthand. During our visits, you'll have the opportunity to meet the children and communities directly impacted by Variety's support, made possible by you.
