Frequently Asked Questions
What is Spin 4 Kids?
Spin 4 Kids is a heart pumping, heart racing, high energy five hour team fundraising event that's all about raising funds for kids who are sick, experiencing disadvantage or living with disability.
Gather a team of ten or take the challenge solo and register to take on an enormous day of spinning, fundraising and getting your heart pumping.
How many people do I need to register?
Teams can consist of 1-10 participants. Keep in mind that you must keep the pedals spinning for five hours, so work out what your best tactic is and fill your team accordingly!
Do you take payments other than credit card?
Absolutely! We accommodate bank transfers and invoices as well as credit cards. Reach out to our Events Team at events@varietynsw.org.au and we can chat about what payment method works best for you.
How will my team’s kilometres be tracked?
The competition begins at 10am sharp. Each hour that follows (on the hour) a Variety volunteer will come around and take a note of your kilometres to track your team’s progress. A running total will be announced each hour – but don’t forget, it’s a long day! It’s not over ‘til it’s over.
That date doesn’t work for me. What are my other options?
Every year we host a Spin 4 Kids in Newcastle and Sydney. If you can’t make either of those dates, we have openings to host your very own Spin 4 Kids. Send us an email at events@varietynsw.org.au to get in touch.
Can I host my own Spin 4 Kids?
You sure can! We’re on the look out for passionate organisations to host their very own Spin 4 Kids. Send us an email at events@varietynsw.org.au to get in touch.
Do I have to meet a minimum fundraising target?
While we don’t have a minimum fundraising target, we encourage all teams to set their own fundraising goal for the event. Here are some key figures to keep in mind:
- $500 = one class of students attending our Just Like You disability inclusion program
- $2,000 = enables one child living with disability receiving specialised therapy programs
- $8,000 = 12 children gaining access to paediatricians in remote areas making life-saving diagnoses
