The Variety Mini Bash is back in 2026!
Want a bite sized version of a Variety Bash? The Mini Bash is the perfect opportunity for new and experienced Bashers to get a taste of the action.
Whether you’re getting your Bash car back on the road or want to get your family car covered in dust, join us for the 2026 Variety Mini Bash.
Where are we going?
The 2026 Variety Mini Bash will travel through the beautiful Upper Hunter region.
Day 1 - Saturday
Departing Singleton, we head north around Glenbawn Dam, through Gundy and over the scenic Crawney Pass to the former gold-mining town of Nundle. Lunch will be at the iconic Peel Inn, owned by the Schofield family for four generations after John Schofield won the pub in a card game. After lunch, the route climbs to Hanging Rock, continues through Nundle Forest and Ponderosa, then winds east through Nowendoc along scenic back roads to Mt George and Krambach. A quick afternoon refresher stop at Krambach will provide some fun and frivolity before the short run into Gloucester for our overnight stay.
Day 2 - Sunday
Day 2 sees us head into the Barringtons via Tomalla Station. We will traverse the beautiful hills of this farming country, crossing creeks and brooks as we wind around the base of the Barrington Tops. From Tomalla we climb up to the Tops for a stop at The Firs, a unique pine forest with an enchanting, other-worldly atmosphere, before passing through the Dingo Gate enjoying sweeping views for miles as we descend to the valley. The event concludes with lunch at the historic Linga Longa Inn in Gundy.
Who can join?
The Variety Mini Bash is for anyone and everyone and we love to see as many new faces as possible on our Mini events.
Bring your kids, your parents, your friends, your nephews and nieces. There will be something for the whole family on our weekend away exploring the stunning Upper Hunter.

Kids 10-17 years old: $50 per child
Kids under 10: Free
All registrations will receive a tax deductible receipt. Meals are not included in the event cost and are paid directly to each venue on the day.
Hear from our Mini Bashers
"The Variety Mini Bash was an amazing experieince. The roads were great fun to drive and we went through areas I'd never have discovered on my own. It was the perfect getaway with just the right blend of challenge and adventure - all without needing to take time off work."
Myles
"As Variety Bash entrants, we love bringing our nephews on the Mini Bash to show them what it’s like on the big event – and we’re pretty sure they are future Bashers in the making! It’s also great to catch up with our Variety friends and a perfect excuse to give our Bash car a test run before the big event in May, with the route using dirt roads and back lanes just like the Bash."
